Gorey Fete – 21st August 2026

Gorey Fete will be taking place this Friday and so we thought it would be helpful to draft some Frequently Asked Questions for Parishioners and people attending the Fete as detailed below:

  1. Where is the disabled parking provision located?

The disabled parking provision for blue badge holders will be situated on Gorey Hill just above Pizza Quarter Restaurant. Please remember to bring your Blue Badge Card to show to our volunteers.

Please note that there is no disabled parking on the coast road but blue badge holders are able to drive on the coast road to drop off.

  •  Where is the main car parking provision?

Car parking is available at Haut de la Garenne with shuttle bus provision as well as Grouville Common.

  • How much is the entry fee and where does the money go?

Aged 16+                          £7

Aged 5 -15                        £3

Under 5                              Free

All net proceeds from the event are distributed to local charities. The charities nominated for 2026 are Beachability, Jersey Heart Support Group and Normandy Rescue.

  • If I wish to go to one of the shops or restaurants on the Pier do I have to pay an  entry fee?

Yes if you enter the arena to go to a café, shop, restaurant or public house you will have to pay the entry fee.

  • If I am a resident of Gorey and I have not received my pass then who should I contact?

Letters and parking permits are distributed to Gorey residents during the week prior to the Fete. If you believe you are eligible and have not received a letter please contact Brian Brown on 07797 722842 or [email protected].

The contact for any other queries is Jennie Moseley on 07700 724011 or [email protected]

  • Wil you still be having a firework display given the current weather conditions?

The fireworks will be set off from a barge in Grouville Bay to minimise risks associated with the dry weather. The display is due to start around 10.30 pm

  • What impact will the Fete have upon public transport?

From midday on Wednesday all buses will be diverted from La Rue a Don along Gorey Village Main Road and then up Gorey Hill. From Thursday no buses will be permitted down Gorey Hill.

Gorey Coast Road will be closed to through traffic from the junction at La Rue a Don with Gorey Village Main Road so that the Gorey Coast Road will become one way going west.

These restrictions will remain in place until midday on Saturday.

  • Can I take my dog?

Well behaved dogs are very welcome but should be kept on leads at all times.
