St Catherine’s Breakwater – Stabilisation Works Update

Planning Permission Granted for Investigative Works

Dear Parishioners

Ports of Jersey is delighted to let you know that the planning application submitted in August for investigative works at St Catherine’s slipway and buttress has now been approved.

They are now progressing with appointing a local contractor to carry out the specialist works, which are expected to take around two weeks and will be scheduled around tidal conditions. Subject to contractor availability, Ports of Jersey hopes to begin as soon as possible to minimise disruption to breakwater users.

These intrusive ground investigations follow recent surveys and monitoring, and are designed to provide a clearer understanding of the stability of the slipway and buttress areas. The findings will help inform future reinforcement plans. The works will focus on surrounding ground conditions and will not involve any direct drilling into the breakwater itself.

Ports of Jersey is grateful for your continued support. Further updates will be issued but if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Kim Drean at Ports of Jersey.
