Storm Austen – Update

Jersey Met is forecasting very strong winds on Thursday evening, continuing through Friday, with heavy rain at times, due to Storm Austen – the first named storm of this season.

Winds will increase from Thursday evening and overnight reaching a peak on Friday morning, remaining very strong and gusty throughout the day.

It is likely that there will be disruption to travel as well as potential damage to trees, infrastructure, and a risk of localised flooding.

Jersey Met would like to reassure Islanders that the weather situation is being closely monitored. Further updates and advice will follow.
